Phase 1 of Aquaculture for the future is now complete. The program ran from July 2025-March 2026.

The Aquaculture for the future farm business resilience program was developed by the Aquaculture Council of Western Australia (ACWA) to help WA aquaculture businesses adapt to rapidly changing environmental, economic and climate conditions.
As Australia’s first aquaculture‑specific farm business resilience program, Phase 1 delivered practical, expert‑led training through workshops, online learning, and one-on-one coaching support. More than 25 WA aquaculture businesses participated in the program – building confidence, strengthening decision‑making, and improving their understanding and managing of risk.
Phase 1 of the program has laid strong foundations, helping WA aquaculture businesses navigate future challenges and seize new opportunities. The Australian and State Governments (program funders) plan to continue the farm business resilience program in the future.
