The Aquaculture for the future program supports Western Australian aquaculture operators to be better future ready.
This program has been designed in response to the needs of the evolving WA aquaculture industry. It provides subsidised, expert-informed training to help businesses strengthen strategic planning, manage risk, and build long-term resilience. It’s a valuable opportunity for businesses to connect with peers, learn from experts, and plan for a thriving future.
Program highlights
- Flexible and inclusive training designed to meet the unique needs of WA aquaculture businesses
- Support to (re)develop a future ready farm business plan
- Access to in-person and online workshops, self-paced modules, additional fit-for-purpose resources, and one-on-one business coaching
- Opportunities to connect and learn from other aquaculture operators and businesses in the growing WA aquaculture industry
Aquaculture for the future is an initiative of the Aquaculture Council of Western Australia Inc. ACWA is the incorporated peak body for the Western Australian aquaculture industry and is a member-driven organisation working to provide strategic leadership for the sustainable development of the aquaculture industry. ACWA is recognised as the industry leader in WA.
The Farm Business Resilience Program is jointly funded through the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund and WA’s Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development.

What happens next:
- JULY: EOI’s will be reviewed and assessed for program suitability
- JULY/EARLY AUG: If suitable, EOI applicants will be invited to register for the program
- AUG: Full program registrations and pre-work to be completed
- SEPT: Training program workshops
- OCT-DEC: Training program coaching sessions
- DEC: Training program complete
