Amber is an aquatic science professional with 15 years of experience in the aquaculture/marine and environmental science industries. For the last 10 years, she has been specialising in aquaculture vocational training for South Metro TAFE (Previously Challenger TAFE). She has recently transitioned out of academia and back to environmental consulting where she can help clients with approvals, environmental compliance and research and development. She also has extensive experience in research and technical roles with the Department of Fisheries, Department of Agriculture and Geotech.Amber is passionate about working with industry to ensure the sustainable use of our most precious resource through aquatic research and education. This research has included working collaboratively with the Marron Growers Association, Australian Centre for Applied Aquaculture and Research (ACAAR), Western Australian Fishing Industry Council (WAFIC) and Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC) on research into aquatic nutrition and culture techniques.With each graduating class she sends another group of aquaculture professionals out into industry around the state. Her ongoing alumni networking gives her unique exposure to the whole of the aquaculture sector. She hopes to put her broad knowledge and experience to good use as a member of the board.
